Dr David Fyfe

Dr Fyfe is a non-executive director of IDTechEx. He has had an impressive career in the printed and organic electronics industry spanning more than ten years. He served as chairman and chief executive of Cambridge Display Technology (CDT), a developer of light emitting polymer technology which was acquired by Sumitomo Chemical in 2007. He advanced CDT from a university spin-out research company through to a public listing. Dr Fyfe is a 30-year veteran of the global chemical and engineering industries, with senior executive roles in ICI and BF Goodrich. Dr. Fyfe was also president and chief executive officer at Harris Specialty Chemicals, Inc, a private-equity funded construction chemicals company prior to CDT.

 

Currently, Dr. Fyfe is a non-executive director at Acal Energy, developer of novel fuel cell technology. He is also a member of the Advisory Board at Soligie Inc., specialists in printed electronics as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Organic Electronics Association (OE-A) in Frankfurt, Germany. He also serves as a consultant to a number of venture and private equity funded companies. Dr Fyfe has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in materials science from the University of Cambridge and a doctorate from London University with dissertation on electrochemical research. He resides in the USA.
