Dr. David Pugh leads IDTechEx's research on IoT, covering a range of verticals including connected vehicles, healthcare and smart homes and cities. David interprets the latest trends and market data in IoT and its supporting technologies, such as sensors and energy harvesting, working closely with clients worldwide on identifying the most meaningful ways for them to embrace innovation.
David Pugh has an MChem in Chemistry from the University of Surrey and a PhD in materials chemistry from University College London. David's PhD research focused on zeolite and ion modified metal oxide semiconductor gas sensors for environmental monitoring. David has authored several publications in leading peer-reviewed journals as well as presenting this work at conferences across four continents.
David has held visiting positions at Delhi University (India) and the University of Auckland (New Zealand) and has experience of collaboration with a number of multinational companies on projects based on chemical sensing for environmental monitoring.
