ProfileThe IEC {} is the global organization that publishes International Standards and supports all forms of Conformity Assessment for the millions of devices that use or produce electricity or contain electronics. IEC work covers all the building blocks of information technology; printed electronics, components, switches, cables and wires. We make certain that devices and appliances that are used in the home, office, medical facilities, public spaces, etc. work safely with each other, everywhere in the world. 20,000 experts from the industry, research and test centres, labs and academia participate in IEC work. The IEC has published some 10,000 International Standards, Technical Requirements and Specifications. IEC work also covers power generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy sources, energy storage, the Smart Grid and Smart City. Dozens of IEC Technical Committees develop International Standards for technologies presented at the Printed Electronics Show! USA 2017 event. They include IEC TC 119 {} for Printed Electronics, IEC TC 69 {} for Electric vehicles, as well as other TCs that prepare Standards for technologies, materials, components and systems, such as nanonotechnology, piezoelectrics, sensors, lasers, which are central to 3D Printing, Energy Harvesting and Storage, and Wearable devices.
