Stansted Airport
Stansted Airport is approximately 40 minutes by road from Cambridge and offers the most convenient airport to Cambridge.

Coach: There is a coach service to Cambridge Drummer Street station departing every hour. This service does not run 24 hours, see National Express Coaches - www.nationalexpress.co.uk to view timetables, prices and to book tickets.
Taxi: There is also a reliable airport taxi service: Stansted airportcarz - www.airportcarz.com/stansted.php. Tel: +44 (0) 1245 251888.
Train: If you would rather travel by train, there is an hourly train service which departs from underneath the airport terminal building. If you have travelled to Cambridge by coach or by train, you will need to get either to your hotel or Clare College from the bus/train station. There are some taxis listed below which will take you to your destination.
Heathrow Airport
Heathrow Airport is approximately 2 - 3 hours from Cambridge. Airport website for flight details: www.heathrowairport.com
Coach: There is a coach service to Cambridge Drummer Street station. See National Express Coaches - www.nationalexpress.co.uk to view timetables, prices and to book tickets. However, we advise that you take the train as the roads leading to Heathrow get very busy.
Train: You will need to get to Kings Cross underground station to get the train to Cambridge. You can either take the Piccadilly underground or the Heathrow Express:
Taxi: Alternatively you could book an airport taxi which will take you all the way to Cambridge. (See below for details).
If you have travelled to Cambridge by coach or by train, you will need to get either to your hotel or Clare College from the bus/train station. There are some taxis listed below which will take you to your destination.
- Piccadilly Route: From the airport follow signs for the underground (also known as the tube) (www.tfl.gov.uk), you need the Piccadilly line which is dark blue and this will take you straight to Kings Cross. When you arrive at Kings Cross you must follow signs to 'trains' to get to the train station. Trains run every half an hour between London Kings Cross and Cambridge.
- Heathrow Express: From the airport follow signs for the Heathrow Express - www.heathrowexpress.com. You will arrive in central London at Paddington train station. You need to get to the Paddington underground station. From here you can choose to take the Circle (yellow) line or the Hammersmith & City (pink) line to Kings Cross. When you arrive at Kings Cross you must follow signs to 'trains' to get to the train station. Gatwick Airport
Gatwick Airport is approximately 2 - 3 hours from Cambridge.

Train: There is the Gatwick Express train - www.gatwickexpress.com, which takes about 30 minutes and will take you to Victoria underground station. You must get on the Victoria line which is pale blue to get you to Kings Cross underground station. This will take about 15 minutes. A good train service exists from London (King's Cross or Liverpool Street) and the fastest trains (the Cambridge Cruiser from King's Cross) take only 47 minutes. Cross country rail services link Cambridge with the Midlands and the North. You can either take a taxi to your hotel/Clare College or take a bus to the city centre (Emmanuel/Drummer Street) and you can walk to the college. A map of Cambridge is below.

There is a frequent express service between London and Cambridge and an hourly coach service between Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports and Cambridge. The College is a ten minute walk from Cambridge Bus Station in Drummer Street.
