Speaker Biography (Jacob E. Grose)

Jacob E. Grose is an Analyst at Lux Research, based in New York City. He is currently a member of the Alternative Power and Energy Storage team, covering a range of emerging technologies including batteries, capacitors, fuel cells and demand response. Previously, Jacob has worked with Lux Research clients on diverse topics, from forecasting next-generation organic photovoltaics, to assisting with the incorporation of green technologies into a sustainable development project in Dubai. He was the lead author of the Lux Research report "How Venture Capitalists Are Misplaying Nanotech," indentifying trends in nanotech venture capital exits.
 
Jacob received a Ph.D. in physics from Cornell University where he worked on the fabrication and measurement of transistors based on a single molecule. During his time at Cornell, he collaborated with researchers in the chemistry and materials sciences departments on projects related to organic thin-film transistors, conducting-polymer batteries, and fullerene-based superconductors. He is the author of several papers published in leading nanoscience journals and has spoken at scientific conferences in both the U.S. and Canada. He received his undergraduate degree in physics from Harvard University.
