Speaker Biography

Bonwon Koo is a member of research staff in the Display Laboratory(printable TFT strategic technology unit) at SAIT(Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology).
 
He received his BS and MS degrees in physics from Keimyung University and PhD degree in electrical engineering from Dong-A University.
 
His research interests include the surface and interfacial properties in OTFT, flexible display process includes ink-jet, spin-coating etc.
 
He has played leading roles in 32x32 mono color OTFT-PLED program at SAIT in 2003, world first 15" full color OTFT-LCD program at SAIT-SEC(Samsung Electronics Co.) in 2004 ,64x64 full color OTFT-PLED program at SAIT in 2005, 128x64 mono color PTFT-OLED program at SAIT in 2006 and and 4" QVGA PTFT-EPD program at SAIT in 2007.

S.A.I.T(Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology) was established in 1987 with the founding philosophy which can be literally translated to "endless or continuous search for breakthrough". In case of the composition of researchers at S.A.I.T, close to 40% hold Ph.D degree and in terms of the majors, 37% of researchers here hold electronics major and others spread across the board.
