Speaker Biography (LeRoy Johnson)

LeRoy Johnson, P.E.
As Senior Director of Emerging Technologies at Leggett & Platt, a company he has served 20 years, Johnson is responsible for cultivating a steady stream of new technologies and leading them to commercialization. He heads the R&D team for wireless charging, solar, and wind-power projects. He has won four international awards (two in ergonomic office seating and two in the truck industry) over the past three years and has been awarded more than 20 patents. Johnson, who also spoke at last year's Energy Harvesting Conference, serves on the Wireless Power Consortium and the Consumers Electronics Association, two international organizations that strive for standards in the interoperability and safety of wireless-powered devices. He has designed and built a residential rooftop wind-power system to charge batteries in an electric vehicle.
