Speaker Biography (Volker Arning)

Volker Arning studied Chemistry and Business at the universities of Düsseldorf, Germany and Sydney, Australia. He received a scholarship of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and participated in the MBA-International Case Competition in Montreal in 2005 placing 4th out of 30 teams.
After his degree, where he focussed on surface chemistry and atomic force microscopy, he started his PhD at Degussa GmbH with academic mentoring of Prof. Dr. Möller of the DWI at RWTH Aachen.
His thesis is on modifying materials and surfaces to improve the assembly process of RFID tags. He is further on developing ink formulations for printable electronics.
