Speaker Biography

Dr Andrea C. Ferrari is University Lecturer in Electrical Engineering in Cambridge. He holds a Royal Society University research fellowship at the Cambridge Centre for Advanced Photonics and Electronics and is Fellow of Pembroke College, Cambridge. His research interests combine nanomaterials growth, modelling, characterisation and devices. In particular, he has studied growth and characterization of diamond-like carbon, nanotubes and nanowires for coating, optoelectronics and sensing applications. He is working non-linear optical properties of nanotubes for applications in photonic devices.
