Presentation Summary

  • Plastic Logic has developed an innovative technology for flexible displays for a range of new innovative products based on organic materials and a flexible substrate using low temperature processing.
  • For manufacturing, a production facility in Dresden, Germany was designed and construction is on progress for the ramp up in 2008. State of the art equipment has been selected and ordered for this production line.
  • An overview of the status of the facility and the challenges in transferring such a technology into mass production will be given.

Speaker Biography

Konrad Herre joined Plastic Logic in September 2007 as Vice President, Manufacturing for Dresden operations. He is responsible for the team in Dresden and oversees the extensive ramp-up, as well as the subsequent production process in the Dresden FAB, including business partnerships. Konrad has held several positions in large, international microelectronics companies previously, including President and COO of X-FAB Semiconductor Foundries, Vice President Production Logistic Fiber Optics with Infineon and most recently COO and member of the Managing Board of ZMD AG as well as President of ZFOUNDRY.
