Speaker Biography (Christian Dalsgaard)Christian Dalsgaard has degrees in electrical engineering, physics and computer science from the Danish Engineering Academy and the University of Aarhus in Denmark. He worked for several years as a development engineer, systems designer and MD within the communications and software industries before starting a smart textile consultancy in 2004 with focus on integration of microelectronics into textiles and garments. Company Profile (Ohmatex ApS)The company, Ohmatex is a pioneer in smart textile development and has been involved in a range of projects from integration of thermal sensor technology into fire-fighter's suits for Danish Viking Life-Saving Equipment, to development of interconnects between textile sensors and control electronics in the EU ProeTex project and embedding sensors and micro-electronics in the Safe@sea project. Ohmatex is responsible for development of a generic connection technology in the EU Place-IT project, starting in February 2010 and is currently developing a sock for astronauts that can measure electrical activity and metabolism in muscles for the European Space Agency (ESA). |
