Speaker Biography (Roy Freeland)Roy joined Perpetuum as CEO in 2004. A Cambridge engineer graduate, he has over 25 years international experience in senior positions at technology-based companies. Prior to joining the company he successfully ran Meggitt Electronics, was Group General Manager at Bowthorpe (Spirent) and CEO of United Industries. Company Profile (Perpetuum)Perpetuum leads the world in vibration energy-harvesting. It developed the world's first truly practical vibration harvesting microgenerator capable of generating enough power to enable the reliable transmission of large amounts of data. The company has established itself as the global leader, specialising in the production of highly efficient microgenerators that optimise the operation and availability of plant and equipment, and improve cost-efficiency of maintenance work. Perpetuum was set up in 2004 as a VC-backed spin out from Southampton University, where the concept for the technology originated. |
