    Speaker Biography (Dirk Schapeler)

    Dirk joined AMI in April 2010 after the acquisition through Bayer MaterialScience. Prior to AMI Dirk was the Head of the Electro Active Polymers group at Bayer MaterialScience in Germany, which he built up and in late 2009 led to the acquisition project with AMI. Before that he was Program Manager at the New Business group and scouted the markets and applications for Electro Active Polymers, new materials for automotive and consumer electronics. Prior to Bayer MaterialScience Dirk held several program management and engineering positions at large automotive suppliers, successfully introducing innovative products to the market place. Dirk has studied mechanical and electrical engineering at the university of applied science in Karlsruhe, Germany. He's married, has 3 children and lives in Mountain View, California.
