Speaker Biography (Herman Schoo)From 1992 worked at the Philips Research Laboratories in the development of (semi-)conducting polymers. Was involved in setup of PolyLED Business Unit at Philips, resulting in a pilot production unit in Heerlen, From 1999 at TNO Industrial Technology and as research fellow of the Dutch Polymer Institute to set up a group, working on semi-conducting polymers and devices. Involved as Chief Technology Officer in a startup-company, "Orgatronics", aiming at pilot production of organic electronic applications. Involved in setup of the Holst Centre at the Eindhoven High Tech Campus. Currently, program manager of the Holst Centre strategic program "Sensor Tags & Systems". Recently appointed as Senior Research Fellow of TNO. Company Profile (Holst Centre)Holst Centre is an independent centre for open innovation that develops generic technologies and technology platforms for wireless autonomous transducer solutions and systems-in-foil. It is founded in 2005 by the research organizations IMEC and TNO. A key feature is interaction and cooperation with industry and academia. It is this kind of cross-fertilization that enables Holst Centre to tune its scientific strategy to industrial needs. |
