Speaker BiographyJurgen H. Daniel is a Research Scientist at the Palo Alto Research Center where his research includes micro-electro-mechanical systems, display media and printed organic electronics. Previously, he has held positions at Oxford Instruments and at FEI Europe and in 1998 he was visiting scientist at the Matsushita Research Institute, Tokyo. He holds a Dipl. Phys. degree from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Cambridge, UK. Company ProfilePARC (Palo Alto Research Center), booth 12, is a leader in Printed Electronics that offers three unique set of capabilities to industry partners:
- Characterization: Characterize and optimize material performance in actual devices and circuits for chemical and materials companies supplying materials for the printed electronics market
- Application Development: Circuit design and proof of concept fabrication, including sensors and display elements, for clients exploring the capability of printed electronics for specific applications.
- Full System Prototype: Integration service for complete systems containing printed electronics and conventional thin film components, e.g. amorphous or poly silicon transistors and sensors, and/or standard silicon circuitry.
A global center for commercial innovation for 40 years, PARC is a pioneer in development and commercialization of thin film transistor, circuit, and sensor. With deep knowledge of printing technology in domains such as displays, image sensors and medical sensors, PARC's technical staff and facility support printed dielectrics, nanoparticle metals, organic, oxide and silicon (amorphous, polycrystalline and printed nanowire) semiconductors.
PARC's clients include display manufacturers, consumer electronics firms, IT companies, government agencies, and materials suppliers to the printed electronics market.
