講演者の経歴 (Sang Chul Shin)

Sang Chul Shin earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Konkuk University in Seoul. Dr. Shin joined NIA in 1995. NIA is a statutory agency established under the Framework Act on Inforformatization Promotion of Korea in 1987. NIA spearheads the deployment of information technology in the public sector and the development of national IT policies.
 
He is responsible for the following 1) Consulting and assisting the implementation of the u-Korea master plan which seeks to create a nationwide ubiquitous environment (u-Infrastructure): u-Sensor Network, BcN, etc. 2) Planning and carrying out u-Service such as RFID/USN/RTLS applicable pilot projects. 3) Identifying and implementing national agenda projects using state-of-the art IT such as u-city, u-farm, u-defense, u-police, etc..
 
Prior to joining NIA, Dr. Shin was a Project Leader of the System Software Research Center in Samsung Electronics Ltd., where he was responsible for Communication sub-system design and implementation on UNIX machines since 1983. In the past, he has been a board member and chairman of RFID/USN Forum Korea, u-city Forum, u-Korea Association, IT839, etc.
