  • Towards low-voltage printed electronics on paper substrates
  • Novel device architectures needed
  • Report fully printed organic transistors operating below 2V

Speaker Biography

Ronald Österbacka received his PhD in physics from Åbo Akademi University in 1999. His thesis dealt with time resolved electro-optical properties of -conjugated polymers and devices. Afterwards Dr Österbacka was appointed postdoctoral research fellow with the Academy of Finland and later also an Academy Research fellow until he was appointed professor in 2005. Presently he is also co-chair of the National Center of Excellence in Functional materials (www.funmat.fi), in which Österbacka's research group aims at clarifying electro-optical properties of disordered organic semiconductors to be able to demonstrate novel device concepts for printed electronics.
