Rover van Mierlo is Director Central logistics and R&D of Schuitema NV. Schuitema is the second largest retail organisation in The Netherlands with 450 C1000 stores. Before that Rover was the supply chain manager of Akzo Nobel Twaron Products, Practice Leader Industrial Consulting at KPMG Management Consulting and a project leader of Philips International.

Schuitema is the supermarket organisation behind the successful C1000 formula. Schuitema provides products and services to over 450 C1000 stores across the Netherlands. Furthermore, it works with some 380 independent entrepreneurs. In addition to its Amersfoort Head Quarters, Schuitema owns seven distribution centres in Gieten, Raalte, Elst, Eindhoven, Breda, Gilze and Woerden. Schuitema is one of the leading innovators in the field of RFID in the Netherlands. Recently Schuitema is known by The RFID pilot Fresh Chain, which uses RFID technology to improve the quality of ready to cook vegetables.
