講演者の経歴 (Timo Varpula)

Timo Varpulareceived doctor's degree in technical physics from Helsinki University of Technology. He has worked as a project manager at Instrumentarium Corporation Ltd. where he developed whole-body nuclear magnetic resonance imaging systems. He joined VTT in 1986 and acted as a section leader and conducted research on measurement devices for metrological and industrial purposes. Later he worked as a group manager at VTT Automation and as a research manager at VTT Information Technology. He is presently Technology Manager at VTT Sensing and Wireless Devices. His research interests include RFID, RF, microwave, and wireless sensors for scientific and industrial applications. Dr. Varpula has co-authored 45 scientific publications and holds 7 patents.

会社紹介 (VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland)

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland is a globally networked multitechnological contract research organization. VTT has taken a wide R&D approach to RFID and wireless sensing, which is supported by extensive interdisciplinary know-how and in-house technology platforms. Our activities cover RFID and wireless systems from low frequency to mm-waves. VTT develops novel solutions to improve the performance level of RFID systems. Modern equipment and excellent facilities, like micro- and nanofabrication services and anechoic chambers, provide exceptional opportunities for the fabrication and characterization of components. VTT is collaborating with many of the key European players in the field of RFID.
