Speaker Biography (Christoph J Brabec)

Christoph J. Brabec is the CTO of Konarka technologies Inc., a 2001 founded company which is pioneering the field of organic photovoltaics. Before joining Konarka in 2004, he was project manager at SIEMENS Corporate Technology with strong dedication to organic semiconductor devices, flexible displays and medical imaging. After his PhD he joined the group of nobel prize winner Prof Alan Heeger at the University of Santa Barbara for a sabbatical and continued to work on the opto-electronic properties of organic semiconductors later on as assistant professor at the university of Linz (Prof. Sariciftci). In 1998, as a senior scientist of a Christian Doppler Laboratory, he directed research and development for QSEL, an academic spin off company in the field of organic solar cells. In 2001 he joined the SIEMENS corporate research labs in Erlangen. He is author and co-author of more than 150 papers, filed over 50 patents and finished his habilitation at the university Linz in 2003.
