Speaker Biography (Reinhard Wecker)

Reinhard Wecker, 53, has a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering. He has 32 years experience in the PV business and 25 years in "Automotive Solar Business". After 12 years employed as development engineer (developed the swimming encapsulation for crystalline cells = the basis for today's spherical bended automotive modules) - project leader (designed and build several types of modules and systems) - head of a business unit (started "automotive solar business" from scratch to 20M). DM - founded ASOLA in 2001, he helped developed the company from scratch to 100M in revenue and profitable from the start.

asola is a developer and manufacturer of standard solar modules and "automotive" solar systems with global operations. The company is based in Erfurt in the German state of Thuringia.
 
asola Automotive Solar Deutschland GmbH is the part of the asola group, where all Automotive activities are concentrated. asola Automotive is the worldwide technology leader in development and production of innovative Solar Roof Systems which is clearly stated by the 130 Wp Sun Roof of the Plug-In Hybrid Fisker Karma. The largest and most powerful Automotive Solar Sun Roof in serial production.
 
The scope of supply involves all steps from the first concept and samples over detailed development to the final PPAP parts with serial production in Germany or other Europe- or worldwide based production sites.
 
All steps are processed and documented according to TS 16949.
