Company Profile

PolyIC is a leading developer of polymer electronics technology and a future provider of printed electronic products and components for high volume low cost applications. PolyIC uses its competence on materials, new adapted chip design methods and mass production processes (roll-to-roll printing) for the development of this new technology.
The leading application for PolyIC is RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). The technology of the company has potential to be used in various electronics applications being thin, flexible, robust and low-cost. PolyIC is a member of EPCglobal - an organisation for standardising the use of RFID in the industries and a member of the OE-A (Organic Electronic Association; www.oe-a.org) - an organisation which networks leading international companies, institutes and interested users for this technology. PolyIC GmbH & Co. KG started in November 2003 as joint venture between Leonhard Kurz GmbH & Co. KG (51%, Hot Stamping and Coating) and Siemens AG (49%, Electronics) for the development and production of printed polymer electronics. PolyIC is headquartered in Erlangen and will move to Fuerth, Germany in April 2006.

Speaker Biography

Since 2004 Wolfgang Mildner is Managing Director of the newly founded PolyIC GmbH&Co.KG. PolyIC is a Joint Venture between SIEMENS AG and Leonhard Kurz GmbH. PolyIC develops new technologies, which will provide electronics from a printing machine. Additionally he is acting as Chairman of the Organic Electronic Association/VDMA.
Before joining PolyIC, he worked in several business positions for Siemens AG since 1986. He was responsible for a number of projects turning promising technologies to business. He studied Computer Science at the Technical University of Erlangen
