Speaker Biography

Joerg Borchert is currently vice president of the Chipcard & Security group at Infineon Technologies North America. He was formally the senior US executive for the Secure Mobile Solutions business at Infineon. Joerg joined Siemens AG in 1988, initially on the staff of the Corporate Board of Directors handling Mergers & Acquisitions. He has also been in several other management positions since 1992 at the Siemens Semiconductor headquarters office located in Munich, Germany. In 1998, Joerg moved to the Siemens US semiconductor headquarter office located in Silicon Valley as vice president for the Chip Card and Security IC business.
 
After he moved to the US, Joerg built Infineon's worldwide Business Development department, which included establishing the Infineon Ventures/Mergers & Acquisitions group for Infineon Technologies AG as the company prepared for its Initial Public Offering of stock.
 
Joerg received his Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, and received his Ph.D. in Economics.
