Speaker Biography

David has been on-staff with McCarran International Airport since 1993. He currently is the Manager of Airline Systems, which encompasses Common Use Airline Systems, Flight Information Display Systems, Common Use Self Service Kiosks, Traveler Information Prescreening Series, as well as all Help Desk and equipment maintenance functions. David and McCarran are now heading up the Radio Frequency ID Bag Tag project for McCarran's new in line baggage screening facilities. Using RFID McCarran is tracking over 70,000 bags daily. The McCarran IT projects have been recognized, on a world-wide basis, by the Computerworld Smithsonian Program for its technological innovation. McCarran airport is the 5th busiest in the U.S. and 10th busiest in the World and is a completely common use facility handling over 44 million passengers annually.

The Clark County Department of Aviation owns and operates six airports, including its crown jewel, McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada. One of the fastest growing airports in the country over the past two decades, McCarran is now seventh largest in the United States (in terms of passengers) and fourteenth busiest in the world.
