Speaker CVI joined IKEA in 2002 after graduating from Lund University, Sweden, with a MSC degree Mechanical engineering and a BBA in economics. I have since then worked with product development and been involved in various Supply chain projects. In 2004 I started as deputy project manager/ business developer for Goods Identification project. Main tasks are to evaluate different technologies (including RFID) and to create a global structure for how IKEA should work with identification in the Supply Chain. Company ProfileIKEA offers a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them. This is the single idea at the heart of everything IKEA does, including the way we develop and purchase products and the way we sell them in IKEA stores around the world. IKEA has today 213 stores in 32 countries/territories. The IKEA Group itself Owns 189 stores in 23 countries. The other 24 stores are owned and run by franchisees outside the IKEA Group in 15 countries/ territories. Sales for the IKEA Group for the financial year 2004 (1 September 2003 - 31 August 2004) totalled 12.8 billion euro (15.5 billion USD).
