Speaker CVMats Johnsson is working as an associate professor at Lund University. He has also an adjunct professor position at School of Packaging at Michigan State University. Since Jan 2005 he is the head of the Department of Design Sciences, Lund University. Just recently he became the project leader of a national competence centre named NGIL, Next Generation Innovative Logistics. NGIL is a 10 year research project involving several companies and research institutes. In his research he is focusing on smart packaging and how it can be used to develop the supply chain to be more efficient. An important part of this is autoID and RFID. To evaluate and analyse the cases he is involved in he is using simulation techniques. In the long run Mats would like to help the industry to develop a better understanding for smart packaging logistics.
