Speaker Biography (Matthew Ream)

With more than 20 years in the high-tech engineering industry, 15 of them specifically in RFID, Matt Ream is currently responsible for worldwide marketing for Blue Spark Technologies, formerly Thin Battery Technologies.
 
Most recently, Matt held senior RFID market and business development positions with Zebra Technologies Corporation, a leading provider of RFID Solutions. Matt was responsible for launching Zebra's first RFID product, the R-140 smart label printer/encoder; the first commercially available product of its kind.
 
Ream began his career in the industrial controls and machine tool industries, where he was involved with installation, training, troubleshooting and design of a variety of industrial control and flexible manufacturing systems. Later Ream moved to Omron Corporation., where he served as RFID and Bar Code product manager for North and South America and was responsible for product promotion and strategic planning in the RFID and bar code sales channels, as well as RFID product development.
 
As a highly respected expert in the area of RFID systems, Ream has published and participated in writing numerous articles on RFID and has conducted lectures for a multitude of industry conferences, and The Center for Automatic Identification at Ohio University. He has been active in RFID standards work for ISO, ANSI and EPC Global.
 
Ream earned a bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry University.
