History Dr Daniel Thomas, Director of 3Dynamic Systems, was interviewed by Nadia Tsao on February 15, 2017.
3Dynamic Systems (3DS) was founded in 2014 by Dr Daniel Thomas and has been based on-site in Swansea University. In the first two years of operation, the company consisted solely of Dr Thomas himself, but as of February 2017, 3Dynamic Systems has grown to a total of four employees. The company was originally founded as a manufacturer of 3D bioprinters and bioinks based on Dr Thomas' own research, but from 2015, it has also offered a 3D printer for printing carbon fibre and other composite materials. Dr Thomas has told IDTechEx that the company is aiming to expand its product offerings further to include 3D bioprinted biological material (tissue engineering) in 2017. Currently, the company supplies both printers and materials worldwide in the fields of bioprinting and composites. 3Dynamic Systems
