Solid State Batteries For Medical Devices And Sensors
Santa Clara Convention Center, CA, USA
Great America J
16:40 - 17:00
The healthcare sector is changing to embrace the interconnectivity of the Internet of Things for more proactive patient health management. Remote patient monitoring can be enabled with the deployment of increasingly small sensing devices in areas such as implantable devices (cardiac, neuro-stimulators), ophthalmology, orthodontics, drug delivery or epidermic patches. Beyond their size, critical requirements for long life, high energy density, safety and reliability are placed on the energy source in the device. This presentation will describe options for powering these devices autonomously, including the use of combined small size solid state batteries and energy harvesting devices.
