12:40 - 13:00
The automotive market is getting a lot of attention recently. Whether it is the electrification of the powertrain system, the proliferation of new Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features or the promise of autonomous self-driving cars. Recent M&A activities, as well as the number of start-ups demonstrate that serious money is being applied to accelerate technology development that will enable ADAS and AD. Car makers are in a state of hyper competition as each vehicle maker is racing to be the first to deliver affordable self-driving vehicles to the masses. This session will focus the progress made in ADAS and Autonomous Driving (AD). It will examine technology barriers in sensor and semiconductors sectors and outline what advances are needed to make AD a reality.
