The last few years have witnessed a major transformation in biology RnD. Scientists are beginning to move away from the manual processes of the past - literally using human hands and Petri dishes to painstakingly grow living samples - and finally beginning to leverage sophisticated automation tools like 3D bioprinters to build much higher quality living structures at a fraction of the time and cost. In this talk, I will cover how this technology works, how it is currently being used, and how this massive increase in efficiency for biological RnD processes promises to deliver new products that have only been explored on the pages of our favorite science fiction novels.
