The Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry is one of the largest global industries at $12+ trillion. Productivity in this industry, however, has stagnated over the past 50 years despite all the gains made in other industries. In fact, the construction site has not changed much since Roman times. By fully digitizing the building process, the entire AEC value chain can be automated which results in significant cost reduction, less material waste, and greater design freedom. DUS Architects / Actual have developed and 3D printed numerous building structures creating new digital produced products for the market using a specially formulated Henkel polyamide. Examples will be highlighted during the presentation.
As one of the co-founders of DUS Architects, Hans has over 12 years of experience in leading a firm at the forefront of architecture, inspired by his fascination for the informal (nano)city versus formal (mega)city.
As co-founder of Actual he puts his beliefs into practice, using technology to democratize architecture.
Hans graduated from Delft University of Technology in 2003 and studied at CEPT University in Ahmedabad, India.
He is an international (keynote) speaker, teacher at Delft University of Technology and board member of several companies.
DUS designs unique architecture, by focusing on technological innovation, bespoke design, and communities.
Based in the heart of Amsterdam, we are an international team of designers, architects, software programmers, hands-on thinkers, 3D print experts and inventors.
Through design, we build alliances and solutions with big impact for our planet.
Our dream is to give everyone in the world access to tailor made architecture and accelerate the World's evolution to a sustainable production of cities.
That's why we digitize the AEC industry & make it easy for anyone to use and join our digital production platform.
Creating Actual design freedom, massive cost reduction, perfect consumer quality and no waste.
