Madrid Orders 60 Solaris Electric Buses

EMT, the public bus operator in the City of Madrid, has commissioned 60 electric buses from Solaris. Madrid bets on high energy batteries and pantograph charging which will ensure high operability in all kinds of conditions. The silent and emission-free Urbino 12 electric buses are flagship vehicles of the manufacturer. Contract value is over 30 million EUR.

ECOWind: Partnership Investigates Offshore Wind Affect on Marine Life

The new Ecological Consequences of Offshore Wind research programme (ECOWind) will help answer these unknowns and deliver policy-ready solutions that aim to enable offshore wind and thriving marine ecosystems to coexist and to promote environmental restoration.

Ocean Harvesting to Raise 3 MEUR For Sea Trials With InfinityWEC

To finance sea trials with wave energy converter InfinityWEC at scale 1:3, Ocean Harvesting is raising 3 MEUR in equity investment at a pre-money valuation of 7 MEUR. This investment will be combined with public financing for the project. The sea trials are planned to be completed by the end of 2024, after which commercialization of the technology will be initiated with sea trials of full-scale systems.

Energy Storage System for Côte d'Ivoire's First Solar Plant

Côte d'Ivoire had an installed electricity production capacity of 2229 MW in 2019 and is expected to double its production by 2030. Unlike other companies' designs, they use a single waveguide layer for full RGB color — this helps to decrease weight but increases design complexity. Its in-house design software was developed specifically to solve this issue. The company is in the process of scaling production with its fab partners.

Volkswagen and SEAT Mobilise 10 Billion Euros to Electrify Spain

The Volkswagen Group and SEAT SA will mobilise 10 billion euros, together with their partners in the Future: Fast Forward project, in the event of a positive resolution of the PERTE VEC. The Gigafactory will have an annual production capacity of 40 GWh, supplying the total volume of cells to Martorell and Pamplona. It will employ more than 3,000 people by 2030 and occupy an area of 200 hectares. Construction of the Gigafactory will begin in the first quarter of 2023, and production will start in 2026.
