In 2019, Dragonfly Golf partnered with a USA based sports academy to provide swing capture and feedback to its golf students as part of their quarterly swing assessment program. Use of the Dragonfly smart suits automated the process and provided every golfer with detailed additional feedback on their technique. Furthermore, supplementary insight was provided to the coaches on each athlete's strengths and weaknesses when compared to the best athletes at the academy. This partnership has revolutionised the academy's golf assessment program through the seamless addition of valuable quantifiable performance based feedback for players, coaches and parents.
David leads the biomechanics and motion capture operations at Guided Knowledge. His deep expertise in 3-D modeling and simulation of sports performance has been instrumental in developing GK's state-of-the-art wearable sports analysis technology. He has played a pivotal role in building GK's world class Motion Capture Facility as well as instituting the team's science-based R&D approach.
Prior to joining GK, David developed and ran the biomechanics subject area at Solent University, building a robust biomechanics consultancy with clients including elite athletes from athletics, platform and springboard diving and Premiership football teams. David also taught sport biomechanics at the prestigious Loughborough University, where he earned his PhD. Accordingly, David is widely published in a variety of academic journals and has developed patented sports equipment.
