Zenlabs has developed advance lithium ion cells using silicon-based anode that exhibit high specific energy and fast charge characteristics. Our proprietary silicon-based anode when paired with Nickel rich cathode can enable 300 to 400 Wh/Kg of specific energy. Pouch cells having 315 Wh/kg have cycled over 1000 times at 100% DOD at 1C rates. Pouch cells exhibit 90% capacity recovery under the standard 15-minute charge test and have cycled over 700 times when cycled at fast charge condition of 4C charge and 1C discharge.
Dr. Sujeet Kumar is founder and CEO of Zenlabs Energy where he leads the development of high energy lithium ion batteries for Electric Vehicles, Drones & UAVs. Prior to Zenlabs, he served as CTO of Envia Systems leading the company through USABC, ARPA-E and several customer funded battery development programs. Dr. Kumar worked as a senior scientist for Greatbatch and as principal scientist at Nanogram Devices where he led the development of nano silver vanadium oxide cathode for medical batteries. In 2009, Dr. Kumar won an R & D 100 award for his work on high energy lithium ion batteries. Dr. Kumar has bachelor's in technology from IIT, Varanasi and Ph.D. in Materials Science from University of Rochester. Dr. Kumar is inventor of over 60 patents.
