The brain is the most complex organ in the body, and it is currently not financially or logistically feasible to non-invasively remotely monitor the brain. Thereby making ambulatory longitudinal studies extremely difficult. Existing non-invasive EEG devices attach to the skull exterior via wet electrodes, are unable to obtain deep brain signals. Currently the only way to obtain a deep brain signal is by embedding electrodes into the brain through highly invasive brain surgery.
Aware is the first non-invasive medical device to obtain a deep brain signal allowing for remote monitoring of the brain along with a myriad of other biometrics. Built into a custom earphone and integrated into a machine learning platform, Aware can obtain accurate and repeatable brain monitoring EEG signals via the ear canal. Sam is also an advisory board member at the College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology and was also appointed by the Governor of Georgia to the Jekyll Island Port Authority Board and Public Schools Retirement Pension Board. Sam holds an undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University and holds an MBA from the University of Georgia.
