Michael Fairley is an internationally known writer, publisher and consultant in the printing, packaging, security and label industries - most notably as the founder and managing director of the Cowise International Publishing and Conference Group (now part of Tarsus Group plc, for which he is Director, Strategic Development).
Over the past 30 or so years he has written a number of books on printing topics, spoken at over 350 conferences and seminars worldwide, contributed to three international encylopaedias and held senior positions in education, training, industry, consultancy and publishing.
During that time he was responsible for launching - and editing - 'Labels & Labelling International', 'Package Print & Design' and 'Product & Image Security' magazines and has written label market research and strategy studies for Frost & Sullivan, the Economist Intelligence Unit and Pira, for many leading label industry suppliers, investment and finance groups, as well as for his own consultancy company. He has been writing and talking about all aspects of the worldwide label industry for more than 25 years.
More recently he has been involved in the development of Internet resources and in writing and talking about the issues of globalisation, global branding, brand protection, supply chain management, e-purchasing and e-production. He is also part of a European Commission funded project consortium creating a web-based data resource and intelligence system against counterfeiting.
Michael Fairley is Managing Director of Labels & Labelling Consultancy and is a Fellow of both the Institute of Printing and the Institute of Packaging and Chairman of the Product & Image Security Foundation.
