Thomas is a Technology Analyst at IDTechEx researching advanced materials technologies. Prior to joining IDTechEx he was a scholarship student at the University of Oxford, having also worked in research labs at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of Birmingham.
Tom graduated with 1st Class Honours from the University of Oxford, where he studied for an MEng in Materials Science. This provided a firm understanding of the intersecting worlds of Chemistry, Physics and Engineering. His studies have included a wide-ranging variety of applications, from biomaterials for use in the medical sector, to advanced metallurgy for use in aerospace. His research involved the use of advanced computational techniques to model quantum mechanical properties of hydrogen bonds in minerals.
At IDTechEx, Tom is presently involved with research into electrically conductive adhesives, with applications spanning many different fields of interest.
