Biorasis Inc is developing needle-implantable glucose and other bio-analyte biosensors for use in drug development research, as well as for human on-demand metabolic disease management. Our technology includes both a miniaturized (0.5 mm x 0.5 mm x 5 mm) sensor platform (equipped with power source, signal processors and wireless communication), as well as biocompatible coatings that enables functioning of sensors for a period of 3 months. The continuous monitoring of body bio-analytes is key in the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of diseases, such as diabetes, atherosclerosis, liver and kidney abnormalities, etc.

Solar powered implanted glucose monitor for diabetics
Biorasis has developed a state-of-the-art implantable sensor that could replace the use of conventional finger-prick monitors for diabetics. The implantable sensor, which is rice grain-sized, is called Glucowizzard and could be injected into a patient's wrist to continuously monitor glucose levels for approximately a year. The Glucowizzard is solar powered.
