Suzhou ShanHe Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd (branded as "SHPHOTONICS") is a China-based deep-tech company specializing in the development of AI-integrated metasurface optical systems and wafer-level meta-optics devices for multi-dimensional sensing, privacy-preserving computer vision, and compact optical modules. Founded in 2020, the company focuses on co-designing front-end metasurface "optical computing" with back-end AI to reduce system size, add spectral/polarization/depth channels, and enable secure edge intelligence across consumer and industrial scenarios.​

In June 2014, STMicroelectronics began limited production of its EnFilm™ rechargeable thin-film lithium batteries. These batteries are ultra-thin (low-capacity with mm thickness) and were developed using technology licensed from Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).

SonicEdge: Electrostatic MEMS Speakers

SonicEdge is an Israeli-Danish MEMS speaker company developing ultrasonic amplitude modulation-based MEMS speakers for consumer devices. Founded in 2019, it focuses on replacing traditional voice coil speakers with silicon-chip solutions for applications such as TWS earbuds and AR/VR headsets. Many MEMS speaker companies are using piezoelectric transduction, but Sonic Edge has opted for an all-silicon electrostatic approach.
