New Passenger Ferry is Powered by Sun and Torqueedo
This summer, there's a new way to get to a vacationers' paradise in the Baltic Sea: a solar-electric ferry. A 14.65-meter-long emission-free vessel is operating several times a day between the village of Kamp on the mainland and the sunny island of Usedom, part of the popular 350-kilometer Berlin - Usedom cycle route.

Torqueedo Takes on Hydrogen Fuel Cells for Emission-Free Boating
Torqeedo today announced a collaboration with Proton Motor Fuel Cell GmbH to integrate hydrogen fuel cell charging into Torqeedo's industry-leading propulsion systems for electric boats. The two companies will work together on an innovative marine hydrogen hybrid building kit integrating Torqeedo's existing Deep Blue battery-electric drive systems and Proton Motor's advanced fuel cell technology.

Atlantic Ocean Crossing by a Solar-Electric Autonomous Vessel
Mahi Two, an uncrewed surface vessel, has become what is believed to be the first to cross the Atlantic Ocean using only solar power. The autonomous robotic boat left the coast of Spain in September 2021 and made landfall in Martinique, in the French Lesser Antilles, six months later, after more than 4,300 nautical miles at sea.

World's first electric freefall lifeboat
Torqeedo provided the integrated propulsion system for the world's first electric-powered freefall lifeboat, which is being built by the Dutch builder Verhoef. The vessel recently passed its final drop tests, making it the first fully functional electric lifeboat in the world.
