Back to the late twentieth century, energy harvester powered consumer electronics such as wristwatches and calculators were released from Japanese companies. And now, many R&D activities for realizing IoT applications are starting in Japan. In this speech, several activities on developing energy harvesting technologies in the public sector as well as prototypes and products developed by private companies in Japan will be introduced.

Mr Takeuchi has more than 25 years of experience in managing research, consulting and system integration projects mainly in the field of
telecommunications and energy.
He is a leading expert in the field of energy harvesting and a secretariat of the Energy Harvesting Consortium in Japan since 2010.
Also he is a program officer of JST(Japan Science and Technology Agents)'s R&D programme "Creation of energy harvesting technologies for IoT and wearable devices"
Previously he was a senior researcher at Mitsubishi Research Institute, one of the biggest thinktank in Japan.
He holds a masters degree in nuclear engineering from Kyoto University Graduate School of Engineering.
