The Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in Belgium was founded in 1970 and has since grown to the largest Dutch speaking university of Brussels with over 12,000 students. With a strong focus on sustainable development, the research group of Industrial Engineering Sciences in the Faculty of Engineering commenced research on energy harvesting and renewable energy to complement its existing research tracks on embedded electronic applications, parallel computing and wireless communication.
