This talk will provide insight how advanced battery control technology can unlock increased storage capability, and outline real-world applications that involve repurposing used electric vehicle batteries for a valuable and impactful second life.
Dr Valentin Muenzel is a Co-Founder and CEO at Relectrify. Prior to launching Relectrify, Valentin worked on battery-related projects with IBM Research, the CSIRO, PennState University, and BMW. Valentin's experience in technology commercialisation includes consulting projects with hardware and energy companies ranging from startups to listed corporations. He holds undergraduate engineering degrees from the University of Southampton, UK, and a PhD from the University of Melbourne.
Relectrify is a developer and supplier of advanced control solutions that increase battery life and reduce cost in energy storage solutions for solar households, power grids and beyond. The company was spun out of battery research at the University of Melbourne in 2015. Relectrify works with energy storage manufacturers and automotive companies, including Nissan 4R Energy and VW Group, to enable more affordable and sustainable storage products.
