Smart Materials for Structural Electronics

Forum 3 | 25 September | 3:30pm-5:45pm

Structural electronics is the concept of replacing components-in-a-box with truly embedded and conformally integrated solutions. This steps away from “dumb” materials and provides opportunities in cost, weight, and space-savings amongst others.

Many of the most prevalent commercial entries are for the automotive sector and the rate and magnitude of success for EVs may be underpinned by this. This session looks at the range of smart materials on offer, this includes 3D electronics, smart glass, smart roads, and integrated energy harvesting, energy storage, and sensors.
Each session will be delivered by IDTechEx analysts who have conducted the underlying research. This research is based on interviews with key players, extensive travel for global conference and events, as well as visiting prominent players in this area. The classes will include technical introductions, benchmarking studies, value chain analysis, case studies, key player analysis, current market analysis, and a global outlook. The slides will be provided to the attendees and there will be time allotted for Q&A and audience networking.
All Insight Forums will be conducted in English
