Billions of IoT devices need power that has the oomph to communicate, can be produced in huge volumes at low cost, is environmentally-friendly... and doesn't explode. Imprint Energy's technology is optimized to produce thin, safe, flexible batteries with similar if not better performance of conventional batteries, making it ideal for IoT now, and with potential for household, consumer and larger-scale batteries later. This talk will share the substantial commercialization progress for Imprint's printed zinc polymer batteries. High volumes were produced the past year on standard commercial printers and the technology has been successfully piloted on high speed roll to roll printers, slashing costs. Hear about Imprint-powered reference designs, including a sensor tag for the LoRa ecosystem; and prototypes from leaders in Bluetooth Low Energy and RF wireless products. Lastly, we will discuss best-fit use cases for printed batteries in powering next-generation devices.
Dr. Christine Ho is a co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Imprint Energy, a UC Berkeley spin-off commercializing a revolutionary printed battery technology of which Dr. Ho is the principal inventor. Imprint Energy, based in Alameda, CA, is developing technology to enable long lasting, low cost, rechargeable batteries composed of earth-abundant materials for today's and tomorrow's electronic devices. Dr. Ho received her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from UC Berkeley.
