With increasing complexity pervading he automotive industry, increased efforts have been focused on providing safety-compliant electrical and electronic systems. ISO 26262 utilizes a system of steps to manage functional safety and reduce risk to acceptable levels for road vehicles. The newly released edition applies to road-vehicles, motorcycles, and heavy trucks. In this presentation we will discuss how ISO 26262:2018 applies to the battery pack and battery management system in electric motorcycles.
Speaker Biography (Ken Ferguson)
Dr. Ken R. Ferguson is a Senior Scientist at Exponent's Test and Engineering Center in the Vehicle practice. He has diverse scientific experience with expertise in abuse and performance testing of energy storage systems. Dr. Ferguson received his Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Stanford University in 2016 and prior to joining Exponent he was a member of the AMO Science Group at the Linac Coherent Light Source at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.
