LG Electronics has been developing the high speed R2R technology for low cost, high-quality, and mass production since 2012. As a result, LG Electronics has successfully established the graphene synthesis and process technology that can be produced stably. In addition, various graphene crystal size control, high-electron mobility characteristics, and high quality graphene synthesis technology with low levels of defects were obtained.
A high level of quality control can manage uniformity deviations such as crystal size, defects and electrical properties within 10% through total inspection of graphene continuously synthesized with R2R.
Based on these technologies, LG Electronics plans to supply raw materials worldwide to accelerate the application of CVD graphene. Moreover, LG Electronics intends to contribute to identify killer applications of CVD graphene through the cooperation with relevant research groups.
Speaker Biography (Youn-Su Kim)
Youn-Su Kim received Ph. D (2009) in Material Science and Engineering from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Korea. He worked at Stevens Institute of Technology as Postdoctoral Researcher on application of CNT/Graphene for Energy devices. From 2013 he joined at Materials & Production engineering Research Institute in LG Electronics Inc. and developed the application of graphene flake and CVD graphene. He is currently working for commercialization of CVD graphene project and development of bio application as well.
