In accordance with the policy and encouragement of The Ministry of Economic Affairs for Imaging Display, the Display Institute (DI) of the National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) is founded in August 2004. This is the first institute of its kind in Taiwan and around the world targeting the development of innovative display technology. The establishment of the Institute is due to the national attempt at promoting research and education in the field of display technology in Taiwan. The main goal is to conduct cutting edge research and first-class teaching in display. In addition to conducting research and teaching programs, the Institute's other functions include technology transfer and community outreach. With this vision in mind, DI will play a leading and pioneering role in advanced display research in this country.
