Caterpillar, Inc. is a 91 year old company known for large heavy duty equipment used in extreme conditions, yet they are embracing this new manufacturing technology and running with it. Caterpillar celebrated a Grand Opening of its' Additive Manufacturing Factory and the MicroFoundry on March 31, 2016. Lisa will be speaking on the variety of applications and success stories, and lessons learned during this journey for 3D Printing parts for a construction equipment company.

Speaker Biography (Lisa Burt)

Lisa attended Michigan Technological University and has a BS in Chemical Engineering. She has been working at Caterpillar for 17 years, primarily in the component design areas. She joined the Additive Manufacturing team when it formed, in 2014 and is currently an engineering project manager, leading teams to apply 3D printing for components and working with them to develop validation planning.
